In order to help him cope with the situation he found himself in 2008 following injury, to regain self-confidence, self-esteem, self-belief and to feel empowered, Phil decided to embark a number of physical challenges to raise funds for charity, raise positive awareness and enthuse others. His decisions pulled him through the dark times and he started to overcome the adversity he faced with physical limitations and this improved his mental wellbeing.
2015 BRITATHON This year, six years after completing The London Marathon in a punishing 14 days, Phil will set out on 14th September 2015 to complete a marathon distance through the City of London in an incredible 14 hours. Phil is taking on this ambitious challenge to kick-start a £1 million fundraising drive to help BRIT accelerate the development of the UK’s first ever Residential Centre of Inspiration, dedicated to charities supporting young people facing trauma and adversity.
