I am professionally managed by Richard Thompson, the Chairman of Merlin Elite who has become my advisor, mentor and friend.

I do not take a wage from my role as the Non-Paid Chief Executive of the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT), my appointments with other charities and nor do I claim expenses for my charity work. Richard supports the management and all aspects of my professional work including;

I do not class myself as a “motivational” or “inspirational” speaker as I firmly believe that this is not my place to say. Every individual who listens to me speak will draw their own opinion from what they hear, so I intentionally do not appear on motivational speaker agency websites.

If I am asked what I talk about to audiences, I simply say that I talk about my journey and what I am learning. My physical challenges are a small part of my journey and my talks focus on mental well-being, the positives, emotional intelligence and also include;

• My experiences of leadership and team-spirit
• Adapting to life post-injury and my understanding of adversity
• What principles have changed and why my energy is directed to support young people
• My challenges including the Marathons, Channel Row, mountain climbs and physical challenges
• The inspirational figures who have changed my life
• How the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) has evolved
• The BRIT 2012 Challenge and enthusing youth, businesses and the British Public
